The AFS ZeroFuel X prize team is hard at work submitting X prize applications & having custom parts built. Check out the pics page to see the sweet intake manifold "TurbineTech" built for our dual fuel system of ammonia & hydrogen.

I also want to thank Kevin Kantola of "Hydrogen Cars Now" for the nice blog he did about our team. To answer the one question he had about where the CO2 goes? CO2 is sequestered when carbamide is produced. That sequestered CO2 is released once combustion is performed. This is considered to be a net zero emissions. Here is the link to the blog.

The team at AFS is very excited that they have been accepted into the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize (PIAXP).
We want to thank the staff at the PIAXP for their dedication and hard work to promote this contest, but more importantly applaud their foresight for the potential of ZeroFuel powered vehicles in the immediate future.

Frank Amendola and Mike Strizki perform the first test on prototype ZF1. The test was to operate an ICE with a stock ECU on ammonia gas and hydrogen (ZeroFuel). The test was successful and the team is now preparing to rebuild the
drive-train, and build a computer system to take full advantage of all the attributes of ZeroFuel.

The Alternative Fuel Sciences team for the X prize has been formed and begun the building of its vehicles for the competition. The team will consist of three vehicles entered into each of the three race classes of the PIAXP. Two of the entries (ZF1 & ZF2) will be modified ICE ammonia on demand vehicles while the third entry (ZF3) will be a hydrogen on demand fuel cell vehicle. The fuel cell vehicle is the only privately owned fuel cell vehicle in the world. AFS will demonstrate the viability and versatility of ZeroFuel as a safe carrier for ammonia and hydrogen on demand vehicles.
